City Sights Hop on Hop off Tour VI

Brisbane I

Brisbane is the state capital of Queensland and its most populous city. It is also the third most populous city in Australia, behind southern rivals Sydney and Melbourne. The city is situated on the Brisbane River on a low-lying floodplain between Moreton Bay and the Great Dividing Range in south-eastern Queensland. The city is named after Sir Thomas Brisbane, the Governor of New South Wales from 1821 to 1825. Brisbane's demonym is a Brisbanite.
Poinsettia - a tree in Australia. Weihnachtsstern - a pot plant in Germany. It is growing just outside the YHA.
I went for a walk in the City Botanic Garden. Some sweetheart asked his girl to marry him - in an unforgettable way.

Bamboo in the gardens. It is just so peaceful.

One of the Mississippi-style tourist-ships.

Plants are just so lush and over sized - compared to Europe.

Sweet - aren't they?

A hidden waterfall. Such beauty.

Those birds are just so exotic and so common like doves here.

Brisbane II

There is a lot of building going on in Brisbane.

Beautiful old buildings are there too.

Yo man let's rock.

So exotic. Just love being here.

A bit smaller than Sydney. Still cool.

The ferry's look like space ships and are really really fast and fun. Love'em!

Flowers on tree.

Brisi at night - I know my camera is not so good with night pic's.

The first time ever I saw a sign like that in the southern hemisphere. But the grass is just so pretty it needs protection.

Fehmarn Sundbruecke - en miniature.

Brisbane III

Now I finally find the time to commend on my pic's. This one is 6-8 weeks old. Back then I was looking for a job, a room and was rather desperate.
This is one of the houses I could have rented a room in. I did not even went inside to have a look at the room. Everything is coming apart. Yuck!
Basically same thing. Same street. Another house. Could have rented in here too. :(

Like in Sydney you can climb the bridge.

Old and grand.

Interesting architecture.

Brisbane's CBD.

The lovely house I am staying in now with Ron. It has been recently built and I love it's comfort.
