Erste Spuren...

Beweisfotos meiner armen abgearbeiteten Haende! Seit ca. 10 Tagen haben ich diese roten Flecken auf meinen Patschehaendchen. Die Haut ist mehrere Schichten tief zerstoert. Als haette ich mich verbrannt oder Saeure auf den Haenden verschuettet.




Erst habe ich mit Penatencreme versucht die Haut zu beruhigen, bin dann jedoch zum Apotheker gegangen, um die Haut fruehzeitig zu unterstuetzen, so dass hoffentlich keine bleibenden Schaeden entstehen. Die Apothekerin war sehr nett, hat mir mehrere Proben for free ueberlassen und selbst die empfohlene Handcreme war nicht sooo teuer ($6.50)
Nun hoffe ich, dass es bald wieder weg geht. Im Verdacht habe ich drei moegliche Ursachen:
- Terpentinl; mit dem ich mir regelmaessig nach dem Streichen des Bootes die Haende gereinigt habe
- Poliergift; ein Alkohol, mit dem ich taeglich das Besteck des Hotels poliere.
- Sonne; moeglicherweise habe ich Omas Sonnenallergie auf den Haenden geerbet.

Die Arbeit ist momentan der taktangebende Ton in meinem Leben. Eine Sache die ich eigentlich unbedingt vermeiden wollte.

Mein Lebensrhythmus der letzten Woche:
... gegen 04:00 oder 05:00 aufstehen; um 06:00 oder 07:00 im Hotel anfangen zu arbeiten. Gegen 10:00 die Fruehstucksschicht im Hotel beenden, zurueck zum Hostel fahren und dort uebergangslos mit dem Putzen beginnen. Von 10:00 bis 12:30 die Badezimmer (5 Duschen, 4 Toiletten, 5 Handwaschbecken) und Kuechen (3) wienern. Anschliessend duschen und von 13:30 bis 16:00 Mittagsschlaf halten. Von 17:00 bis 21:30 Dinnerschicht im Hotel. Anschliessend duschen uns zwischen 22:30 oder 23:00 ins Bett fallen um gegen 04:00 oder 05:00 aufzustehen...

Nebenbei eroeffnet die spontan organisierte Arbeit im Hotel aber auch neue Moeglichkeiten und zeigt mir, was ich alles kann. Ich bin sooo stolz auf mich. Gestern hat Marty (der Kuechenchef) beschlossen, dass er Lust auf einen ruhigen Abend mit seiner Familie zuhause hat. Also hat er uns einfach alleine in der Kueche gelassen.
Mir hat er nebenbei eine 5 min. Einweisung in die Ablaeufe der Bar gegeben und dann durfte/musste ich neben meinen anderen Aufgaben (Rechnungen ausstellen; Buffee auffuellen; Tische abraeumen, saeubern, neu eindecken) auch noch die Bar betreuen. Ich habe zwar nur 7 Getraenke ausgeschenkt (insgesamt 2 Sorten Weisswein) doch ich bin trotzdem stolz, dass alles reibungslos geklappt hat!

Mit was fuer Personal!!! Ich (23), Koechin (22), Kuechenhilfe (15). Wir drei haben die Arbeit ernst genommen und uns gegenseitig bei unseren Aufgaben unterstuetzt, so dass der Abend reibungslos verlief. Keiner von uns hat es ausgenutzt, das der Boss nicht anwesend war. Weder wurde Pause gemacht, noch geschlust, noch Dinge angefast oder benutzt, die nicht zum jeweiligen Aufgabengebiet gehoeren.
Das waere mit manch deutschen Jugendlichen in dem Alter nicht gegangen... Nicht das sie hier in NZ alle Engel sind, doch ich bin so froh mit meinen Maori-Kollegen zusammenzuarbeiten, von denen ich, wenn ich ihnen auf der Strasse begegnen wuerde, wenig erwarten wuerde.

Australien - Warum nicht?

EMPLOYER WORK LIMITATION - 8547 The holder must not be employed by any 1 employer for more than 6 months, without the prior permission in writing of the Secretary.

STUDY LIMITATION - 8548
While in Australia you must not engage, for more than 4 months, in any studies or training.

It is very important that JULIA DANIELA LUTHJE understands and abides by these visa conditions. If they fail to abide by these conditions, their visa may be cancelled and they will be required to leave Australia. If JULIA DANIELA LUTHJE does not understand the visa conditions they can contact the nearest Australian Government Office overseas for advice before they travel .

Ich koennte mir vorstellen, von Auckland oder Wellington nach Perth zu fliegen, dort ein Auto zu erwerben und die Sued-Kueste entlang nach Melbourne zu reisen. Von dort aus ginge es die Ostkueste hoch nach Brisbane und von dort aus zurueck in die noerdliche Hemisphere.

Habe bereits einen Kontakt in Perth und werde mich fuer ein Praktikum in Sydney bewerben. Bei einem Unternehmen, das von Deutschland aus operiert und tendenziell an mir interssiert waere...

Oh mein Gott, dass ist alles so cool - so unglaublich. Die Welt steht mir offen, alles scheint moeglich... In einer Art, wie ich es mir nie haette vorstellen koennen.

Cakes!!!

Chocolate Caramel Slice

For this cake you need:

• 350g Butter Short Bread Biscuits
• 150g Butter
• one Tin of sweetned Conservative Milk
• 200g Chocolate

Above you can see a Chocolate Caramel Slice Cake made by me and a friend of mine called Rachel. It looks delicious and it is very delicious!


Basically you mash biscuits into crumbs, mix melted butter in, put it into a pan and chill it for an hour in the fridge. The tin of sweetned condensed milk needs to be cooked for at least two hours so that it turns into caramel (Can be done in advance).
When the bottom is settled you spread out caramel on top. Leave the cake in the fridge for another hour and pour melted chocolate on top. Ready to eat!

BANOFFEE PIE

For this cake you need:

• 250g Digestive Biscuit
• 125g Butter
• one Tin of sweetned Conservative Milk
• 1-2 Bananas
• 150g Cream

The first cake I learned to produce in New Zealand!


Basically you mash biscuits into crumbs, mix melted butter in, put it into a pan and chill it for an hour in the fridge. The tin of sweetned condensed milk needs to be cooked for at least two hours so that it turns into caramel (Can be done in advance).
When the bottom is settled you spread out caramel on top. Leave the cake in the fridge for another hour put sliced banana and whisked cream top. Ready to eat!

Hotel PAIHIA

I am working in the morning, I am working in the evening. I am working and I am working - I am working all day.

Habe seit Samstag einen festen Job als Bedienung im 'Hotel PAIHIA'. Morgens von 6am/7am bis 10am und am Wochenende zusaetzlich von 5pm bis 10pm. Ich verdiene den Minimum-Lohn, $11,25 die Stunde ($10 nach Steuern). Nach der Arbeit im Hotel putze ich weiterhin fuer freie Unterkunft im Mousetrap (http://www.mousetrap.co.nz/). Cool ist, dass der Tag ab 13:00 mir gehoert, ich jedoch bereits 5 Stunden gearbeitet habe.



Cooked Breakfast = Wuerstchen, gebratener Schinkern, Kartoffelecken, Ruehrei, gekochte Tomaten, Spagetthi, gebackene Bohnen


Continental Breakfast =Musli, Cornflakes, Joghurt, Dosen-Pfirsich, Dosen-Birne. Die beiden Servietten-Tuerme habe ich gemacht. Sie gefallen Marty, dem Kuechen-Chef, so dass sie jetzt auf dem Buffee stehen... :)


Die Tische neben dem Buffee, auf der unteren Ebene stehen noch mehr. So viele Gaeste wie Stuehle habe ich allerdings nicht. Momentan ist Nebensaison, so dass ich z.B. heute morgen nur 10 Gaeste hatte, von denen 8 zum Fruehstueck erschienen sind.


Mein Rezeption-Desk. Hinter oder vor diesem stehe ich, um die Dockets fuer die Gaeste auszufuellen, kleine Rechnungen, die belgen, dass die jeweiligen Gaeste Fruehstueck hatten.


Ein Blick in Marty's Kueche. Er hat es gerne ordentlich und funktional. Wollte ihn auch fotografieren, habe es mir dann jedoch anders ueberlegt. Will ja nicht unhoeflich sein und die meissten Menschen werden nicht gerne fotografiert...

Ich bin so froh, dass ich nun wieder auf einer regelmaessigen Basis Geld verdiennen werde! Die Taetigkeiten selbst, die mit dem Job verbunden sind, machen mir Spass und Marty, mein Chef, is pretty easy going. Das Hotel selbst ist durchschnittlich mit bisher netten und hoeflichen Gaesten.
Meine Pflichten umfassen: den Aufbau des Buffees, das Begruessen der Gaeste (ausstellen von "Zwischenrechnungen"), das Raeumen + Saeubern der Tische und das Auffuellen des Buffees.
Den Job haben mir Sam+Rich (Samentha+Richard; Fotos weiter unten) vermittelt. Daher bin ich dort ganz easy reingerutscht, mit Erkaeltung und ohne Gesundheitszeugnis oder sonstigem Firlefanz. :o)

Hi Debbie, I am so sorry, that I was not able to make it today! And I am even more sorry, that I send you the SMS at very short notice. The Reason is, that I felt good enough to drive in the morning, but collapsed on me bed afterwork. I thought again about the job durring the day and decided, that it might bebetter, if I not work for you. Hi Julia, If you are not interested about the job because it does not appeal to you then fine. However if you just feel underconfident then maybe you don’t need to worry. Our first 2 nannies had limited experience with young children yet it worked very well. Chris and I are around home most of the time as we are both self employed so you not left on your own particularlyto start with. We will give you guidance on what to do with them and how to manage them. You could come for a day or two to see if you liked it. Do you want to reconsider? Regards, Debbie
