Kakadu National Park II

Most beautiful Waterlilys!
And eatable too! We crunched some of their seed and they are quite tasty. Like Hazelnuts.

Can you see the small bird on the leaf - amazing isn't it?!

We crossed the South Alligator River before heading to Ubirr Rock where we did some wondering around to see classic examples of Aboriginal rock art (more interesting than the Uluru stuff) and spectacular 360 degree views.

We had lunch in the patio of this old tavern. Man they had style. I swore the pub has not been cleaned for at least the last 50 years. Only the strategic important things. Like the glasses you drink from... ;)

Bushfire all along we had bush fires around us. At some places We were driving along the road and just next to us the bush is burning but no biggie. It is just crackling.

I do like the rock art we studied at Ubirr Rock much better than the stuff we saw around Ayer's Rock.
