Johnston Creek

Taken on a walk along a river in Banff.

Love Icicles.

Johnston Creek is a tributary of the Bow River in western Alberta, Canada. It originates in the glacial valleys of Banff National Park at the feet of Cascade Mountain, and flows through a series of gorges with seven cascades to the confluence with Bow River, south of Castle Mountain, between Banff and Lake Louise.

Cascades all frozen right now.

So we went for a walk through this amazing creek and the snow on the path was frozen. It was like a ice slope at many places. Real hard work to get along. All the clever tours and locals had little metal constructions under their shoes to be able to walk. We enjoyed the sliding.
And without railing I would have slid right into the creek at one point.

A frozen Waterfall which is still falling behind the ice on top.

The pretty colour of the water. All the minerals in the stone don't you know...

Wow! Were the dark part is came the spray of the fall in little clouds out. magic.

Detail right corner.

Panorama!
