Banff I

Giganten im Nebel - Giants in fog (does not sound as poetic in English ;)

Mystical morning fog.

Beauty at bloody 8:30 AM.

Die "Nordwand".

The view from the camping ground behind the hostel.

Yeah - call me the yellow winged eagle...

An artificial man made ice wall next to the hostel which you can climb during winter.
It started to melt ...

Hmmm - my shoe. Both shoes look like this. I was evaluating if the expense of new shoes is justifiable or if it is just the female in me which decided it is time for new ones.

The bears come right into town so the good people of Banff
got themselves bear prove rubbish bins.
We actually believe to have seen a real bear print right in town!!!

Looks a bit dark and daunting on this pic - but it is actually a nice spot.

Calgary Airport (Alberta, Canada)

Applied with Jugo Juce too cause they had an opening.
Think I even had a reply.
Not interested any longer.

Tim Hortons at Calgary Airport is one of the places I applied with before I left Vancouver.
Since I had my first look at the city I am considerably less interested working here.

The little white sign makes a pass at Pablo Picasso which is ...

Argh! The Dinosaurs got our luggage. Somebody stop them!

He looks sooo cute in it doesn't he?!

Flight 214 Vancouver - Calgary II

But kinda an impressive piece of art.

A sculpture in the Airport in Calgary. Unfortunately the pic does not do it justice...

Crazy man - just crazy.

Yeah - the snow worries me a bit.
Was none left in Vancouver.
Hope it will not be to frigging freezing down there - man I do not even have a denim.

The city centre of Calgary the only High rises in a sea of suburbs. Looks funny.
Wow - while I am writing this the fire-alarm went off.
I think it's because someone messed up in the kitchen.
Got some fresh air but now it stopped so I will go back in again.

That's what the world would look like if it where one big mega city - maybe.

Where is Nature gone???

Does that not look like the city reaches until the horizon - massive - endless - frightened.

Coming out of the Mountains the aerea around Calgary looks flat like pancake.
Till the horizon.

Flight 214 Vancouver - Calgary I

Arrgh - all the pic's come down the wrong way - and I dunno why!
So start on the bottom guys.
We come out of the mountains and closer to Calgary.

Es gibt ne Schockolade von Milka - die sieht genauso aus.
Braune Berge mit weisser Schocko.

Yeah - I know they will look all the same to you by now but...

The sky and the clouds and the mountains.

Ueber den Wolken,
muss die Freiheit wohl grenzenlos sein.
Alle Aengste, alle Sorgen sagt man,
blieben darunter verborgen, und dann
wuerde das, was gross und wichtig erscheint,
ploetzlich nichtig und klein.

Beautiful - but why oh why these clouds...

Another reason I was very keen to fly was to be able to do air shots from the Rockies without to pay for one of these expensive Helicopter flights.
And what happened???
It was bloody cloudy.

Wow - our blue gem - ey?!

Man - Vancouver is massive isn't it???
But I think it is like a couple of city's which grew into each others boundary's
so you now got this massive urbane area.

Yeah - Vancouver from above - that alone was worth the flight.
(Was sooo conscious if I should go by air or by road but I have no regrets.)

And here she is - the beauty I had the honor to fly with.
(You had to pay for your earphones extra - so stingy - if I may mention that!)

Vancouver all over in one day III

Jo - so it was Sunday and sunny and I decided to go out and see the city which I had decided I did not like - cause I think I might have been to quick to judge...
Representation - for some a dream for some a nightmare. This flag.

He who goes to high places falls deep - a German saying...

You might say city - I say ugly!

Same.

But then they do have interesting styles here. I like the round one and the Glass and the clever balcony's on the other ones.

Hm - me I call that an art-shot. Not very artsy but it transports a feeling... maybe?!

I like the street signs over the street. great thing if you are a driver and got to orientate yourself.

Big.

Fortress? Castle? Disneyland? (Just an hotel - but a nice one - obviously)

Can't get enough from the mountains. Like them best about Vancouver.

OMG - that might be me - or might not. Might have a serious issue with my camera...

That's how happiness can look like! My CC was in it! Yay!

In New Zealand a "tinny" is a small package of cannabis wrapped in tin foil, retailing for between NZ$20-25 (depending on the region). A building where such retailing takes place (commonly a superficially unremarkable home) is a "tinnie house". As an indicator to customers it is common-place to throw a pair of sneakers over the power-lines outside. Other drugs such as methamphetamine may be available as well.

Hm - that does not looks like modern Metropolis - looks like backwards Russia...

Vancouver all over in one day II

I wrote so nice comments and then the stupid Internet is gone and they weren't saved.
Ah, live can be so frustrating...

Fairytale mountains.

With bridge don't know why but seemed to be the thing to do at the time.

And again - oh how I love them.

Aaaand with forest in the front - c'mon we hadn't had that one yet ;)

A bit closer - on the North Vancouver side.

Jo - er hat sie alle voll im Blick - he see's 'em all it's just not the same in German...

$34.25 for the ride. I did not spent it even though the view is said to be special...

North Vancouver - taken from the Sea bus.

Vancouver Downtown taken from - the other side ;)

Ah - love the space - to look to be to feel - pretty isn't it?!
